11 Best War Defense Teams In Marvel Strike Force (2023)

Since its launch in 2018, Marvel Strike Force has continually evolved from a simple PVE turn-based mobile game to a PVP strategy game. And with the addition of Alliance War game mode, players had to fight off other alliances in intense PVP alliance battles.

Even though players can use advanced strategies to gain the upper hand against other alliances, having the right War Defense team is the real key to victory in Marvel Strike Force's Alliance War. Fortunately, players have a wide selection of teams in Marvel Strike Force that they can use to bring home a win for their alliance.

And that's not including the countless MCU series released at the start of Phase 4, like Loki and WandaVision. Video game developers take advantage of these new movies/series to create video game versions of each character. For example, Marvel Future Fight has released Doctor Strange from Doctor Strange and The Multiverse of Maddess as a top-tier Blast Hero.

At the same time, Marvel Strike Force has kept up with the latest movies and series to add newer heroes to their extensive roster. Additionally, they've made minor tweaks to certain characters pushing them from unusable to useable in some game modes like Alliance War or Arena. That's why we've decided to include a couple of other MSF War Defense teams, so players can have plenty of options for defending their Alliance.

11 S.H.I.E.L.D - The Counter Villain Agency

Even though some of the best War Defense teams in MSF are made up of hard-hitting characters, it doesn't mean that players must only use teams with strong offensive abilities. That's where S.H.I.E.L.D comes in handy since it's a team that won't necessarily wipe out a rival team but will be able to survive until the timer runs out.

The main pillar of this Marvel Strike Force War Defense team is Nick Fury because his Passive Ability (Director of S.H.I.E.L.D) boosts other S.H.I.E.L.D members' Armor and Resistance by 30%. Moreover, Nick Fury's Ultimate (Reinforcement) allows him to summon up to three S.H.I.E.L.D Agents (Operative or Security). Not to mention that the S.H.I.E.L.D Medic grants S.H.I.E.L.D allies Regeneration every turn, making the entire team almost unkillable, like the Hulk in the World War Hulk storyline.

10 Hydra - The Paramilitary Terrorist Organization

Hydra was one of the MCU's worst and oldest criminal organizations, and while there may still be remnants scattered around the MCU, they will never be as powerful as they once were. Fortunately, the Hydra team in Marvel Strike Force is a decent War Defense team that players won't have to pour too many resources into.

The key component of this War Defense team in MSF is Red Skull's Hail Hydra Passive ability which allows him to revive a fallen Hydra minion at 50% max HP and applies 2x Deathproof on them. Furthermore, Red Skull gains 25% Damage Reduction per non-summoned HYDRA ally and 10,000% Resistance against Defense Down/Bleed.

The Infinity Watch team is among the best overall Heroes team in Marvel Strike Force since they perform well in nearly every game mode. And that's because every member of the Infinity Watch can dish out a massive amount of damage, thanks to their buffs.

And due to their well-rounded synergy, the Infinity Watch merits being included as one of the best War Defense teams in MSF. Players will want to focus on maxing Gamora since she'll be the primary damage dealer of the team. Gamora's first ability (Assassin's Strike) attacks a target for 290% damage, plus performs 2x bonus attacks for 240%. The other members of the Infinity Watch will be the ones that keep Gamora alive during a War Defense match. So as long as Gamora is alive, players can expect to win a War Defense match with ease.

8 Fantastic Four + She-Hulk

She-Hulk briefly joined the Fantastic Four lineup after the events of Secret Wars but later left to pursue her own heroic endeavors. Despite her brief involvement with the Fantastic Four, many fans now consider her the fifth unofficial member. And because of that, MSF fans can use her and the Fantastic Four together in War Defense with stellar results.

For starters, She-Hulk's Passive (Court Order) can transfer ALL negatives from herself and the Fantastic Four members to an enemy while healing herself for 15% of her Max Health. On top of that, The Thing boosts the entire team's Armor by 20% at the start of the encounter. Overall, the Fantastic Four + She-Hulk make a great War Defense team since they can buff their Armor and cleanse most negative effects.

7 Heroes For Hire - The Mercenary Heroes Of Marvel

The Heroes for Hire team is undoubtedly one of the best all-rounded hero teams in Marvel Strike Force since they have a well-balanced arsenal of skills, some of which greatly benefit them in Alliance War Defense. For example, Colleen Wing is a fantastic brawler that buffs the entire Hero for Hires team, giving them 30% Pierce Damage.

Shang-Chi buffs any Hero for Hire squadmate that has Deflect, giving them +35% Critical Chance and +20% Block Rate. And to top it all off, Luke Cage grants +50% Max Health to each Hero for Hire squadmate, making them even harder to beat.

6 Young Avengers - The New Kids On The Block

Even though the Young Avenger team lineup is relatively new to Marvel Strike Force, especially with its latest member, America Chavez, the team contains some of the best skill-type heroes in the game. And while the Young Avengers isn't particularly the strongest in War Offense, it is one of the best for War Defense.

For example, America Chavez's skill America's Starling reduces enemy damage by 20% and reduces enemy Drain by 100%. And Echo's Passive skill Perfect Mimicry grants Defense Up for two turns for herself and other Young Avenger squadmates.

Players who enjoy using the Web Warriors will be happy to know that this team is useful (and annoying for the enemy team) in War Defense. Scarlet Spider is one of the squadmates that make the Web Warrior team quite powerful since his skill No Responsibility applies Offense Up for two turns and 2 Deathproof buffs on each Web Warrior on spawn.

Ghost-Spider's Percussive Punishment skill generates 2 Ability Energies for all Web Warriors on the team. Undoubtedly, the Web Warriors are one of the best beginners teams for War Defense.

4 The Black Order - Thanos' Enforcers

When FoxNext first introduced the Black Order in Marvel Strike Force, players quickly realized that this team of enforcers would dominate the Alliance War scene. On top of the fact that the Black Order has one of the best healers in the game, the Black Order is also a worthy opponent in War Defense.

Forced Transfusion, Ebony Maw's Ultimate skill, steals HP from the attacking team and applies Slow to them for two turns. Plus, Cull Obsidians' Passive Payback grants 30% Max Health to all Black Order allies while gaining 1,000% Resistance.

3 Weapon X - Mutant Super Team

One element that makes Marvel Strike Force unique is that it features many obscure Marvel characters that some players didn't even know existed. And the Weapon X team is one team that has several lesser-known Marvel characters, except for Wolverine and Sabretooth. But, this team shines in War Defense since it uses (more like abuses) skills that increase the Speed Bar.

For example, Sabretooth's Passive skill Feral Healingfills the Speed Bar by 20%, while Omega Red buffs the team with one turn of Speed Up. Players who use the Weapon X team on War Defense will see how quickly their enemies are defeated in battle.

2 The Brotherhood - The Darker Side Of The Mutants

Even though the Brotherhood is often considered a respectable Raid team (but far from being the best Raiders in the game), they shine in War Defense. For example, Mystique's Passive Subterfuge assists on every non-attack skill used, which means any buff-type skill will trigger an assist from Mystique.

Moreover, Toad grants 100% Focus on all Brotherhood squadmates, essentially making them apply status effects without missing. The only downside of the Brotherhood is that no member has a healing ability, so players will need to rely on Defense Up's applied by Juggernaut's Immovable Object skill.

1 Uncanny X-Men - The Bizarre X-Men Team

Undoubtedly, the Uncanny X-Men has one of the best team-assist synergies in Marvel Strike Force since almost every skill they use triggers an Assist from a squadmate. For example, Cyclops' Passive Team Synergy gives him a 50% chance of triggering an Assist that deals 200% damage.

Moreover, Storm's Ride the Wind skill can grant an Assist Now (50% chance) buff to self or to an Uncanny X-Men ally, which means players can defeat an enemy before they even get a chance to move! But, as with the Brotherhood, the Uncanny X-Men have no healing skills, making them a type of glass-cannon team.
